PROPAGANDA EN ORBITA Propaganda in Orbit is a curatorial and graphic proposal that explores how visual communication was used during the Space Race (1957–1969) by the two major powers of the time: the United States and the Soviet Union. The project does not aim to explain historical events, but rather to show how they were seen, how they were communicated, and how the image of space conquest was built through design.

With this approach, the project proposes an exhibition for the Design Hub Museum of Barcelona, placing graphic material —posters, covers, magazines, catalogues, photographs, and audio pieces— at the center as evidence of an ideological battle fought with ink, paper, and imagery. Through a visual curatorship, the project reconstructs the propagandistic narratives created by both sides.

The work begins with the design of the exhibition dossier, an editorial piece that compiles the complete proposal: selection of works, curatorial criteria, exhibition design, and communication materials. The book becomes an extension of the project itself —not only as a document, but as a graphic object with a clear identity consistent with the curatorial concept.

The exhibition is conceived as an immersive experience in which the visitor enters a dark environment that evokes the qualities of outer space: emptiness, silence, and a sense of infinity. Within this setting, the only visible elements are the graphic materials, arranged to guide the visitor through a chronological and narrative journey. The design avoids physical barriers or traditional panels, allowing the pieces to appear as if they are floating in space—just as ideas and discourses continue to orbit within our collective memory.

The visual identity and communication materials follow the same aesthetic logic: the use of emptiness, darkness, and suspension as visual metaphors. The main poster features a fragment of newspaper floating in space —an image that encapsulates the essence of the project: propaganda as a message that travels through time, remains in orbit, and continues to influence the way we see.
